A lot of anime series have great soundtracks. Sure, some of the music can sometimes be a tad unnerving, but there are a lot of gems in there. If you are going to purchase a soundtrack, please buy it through UBERANIME!

Also, don't neglect the free music you can get if you have broadband and winamp. My favorite anime stations are http://64.202.98.33:6220 and http://212.255.80.194:8000.

If you download ripcast, you can even record the streaming audio. It isn't as great as the CD, but it lets you find out what you like at least.
